I love shooting Columbus Family Photography, and this extended family portrait session has my heart!
While most of my client’s sessions are booked in advance for weekend slots, I often do my best to accommodate any last-minute requests. Ashley reached out to me because her family was gathering at her parent’s beautiful new home in Powell, Ohio. Ashley was hoping to squeeze in a last-minute session because it was a rare occasion where she and her sister were gathered at their parent’s brand new home. She and her sister live in different states so I knew this was a big moment. Hearing how important this was to their family, and knowing how rare it was for them to gather, I just couldn’t refuse!
When I arrived at Ashley’s parent’s house, I was floored by how absolutely gorgeous it is! It was a perfect location to capture their multi-generational family, all together as one. But you know I had to squeeze in some solo shots of the kids, along with some of Ashley and her husband!

The front lawn of their home was immaculately landscaped to perfection. I used the lawn with the gorgeous facade of the home serving as my backdrop for their session! Armed with a tufted settee, my goal was to get a smile from each and every member of the family. With five littles, I thought I might have my work cut out for me. But the children were joyous and absolutely adorable! They were all dressed in white and dusty shades of blue. They really looked like tiny cherubs sitting on the ornate settee on the lawn of their grandparent’s home!
Ashley and her family were so lovely and accommodating. It’s not often you meet people who are so genuinely kind. I can’t wait to work with them again in the future!
