Being a Columbus Newborn Photographer, my days are filled with tiny fingers and tiny toes. But, for this photo shoot in particular, my day was filled with the adorable tiny fingers and tiny toes of two sweet newborn twins!
Mom and Dad, Amanda and Eric, are one big beautiful blended family! The arrival of their sweet twins had them saying hello to babies number 6 & 7! Isn’t that amazing? Prior to arriving at their home to shoot their twins, I provided them with my “prep guide”. Needless to say, they followed it to an absolute “T”! I provide each of my newborn’s families with a prep guide prior to our session. It contains answers to any question you could possibly have about your newborn photo shoot. Additionally, it provides advice on wardrobe. As well as how to prep the day before your session, and the morning of. The overall goal during preparation is to have a sleepy, content, baby (or in this case, babies!) when it’s time for their shoot. Amanda and Eric’s twins sweetly slumbered away almost the entire time!
Mom and Dad are pretty much pros at this whole parenting thing by now! However, I will point out that they are both so laid back, and I could tell that made their twins feel so at ease. I know it can be hard and stressful it can be to prepare your newborn to have their photo taken. Which is why, as an experienced Columbus newborn photographer, I provide my clients with a prep guide. It helps shift the stress and worry to preparedness and anticipated excitement! After all, your energy and demeanor are driving forces for putting baby (or babies!) at ease and relaxation.
Of course, there will always be considerations to make and time to stop during your session. Even sleepy content babies can get fussy easily. Not to mention they’ll need feeding and changing. I love working in enough time during your session to take a break so that we can keep your baby on their schedule! Additionally, I always bring my assistant along with me to newborn sessions. She is hands-on and her top priority is to ensure that babies are safe and happy. Having her help capturing these sweet twins truly created the beautiful images you’ll see in the blog below!
