Experiencing joy as a Columbus Ohio Maternity Photographer is usually the first emotion I feel when I receive an inquiry from a mother-to-be! It is truly an honor to capture the beauty of a mother and child during pregnancy.
For this session, I met Graciela and Qutaiba (or “Q” for short) at Inniswood Metro Gardens! From the moment we met, I knew they were going to be so much fun to work with! And, I was absolutely right, because they were a dream to photograph! Graciela showed up to the shoot in a classic maxi dress, but with a fun twist. Her dress was a bold shade of blue! I love the simplicity (and comfort!) of maxi dresses for maternity photos, they always make a fantastic choice when deciding what to wear for your session!

One question I frequently receive when a family is preparing for a maternity session is, “What should I bring with me to the shoot?” While my answer is typically “just yourself!” I know that even though the baby is not here yet, parents are usually looking for a way to honor their upcoming arrival. This is when I usually recommend that parents bring along a small item that they’ve already purchased for the baby. Like a pair of baby shoes, an heirloom item, or any item that holds special meaning to their family!
I love being able to incorporate these items and baby accessories into their session in a creative and artistic way! The photo below of Graciela and Q holding those tiny baby shoes will always remind them of how small and tender their sweet baby was when he made his way into this world.
