Spring is such a beautiful time of renewal and joy. For the families I work with, it’s a time to gather and take their yearly family portraits. What a joy it is for me to capture beautiful memories of loving families during a season of rebirth, reinvigoration, and love! I met each of these beautiful families at Inniswood Metro Gardens in Westerville, Ohio. As usual, this location did not disappoint! Around every bend, there is a new beautiful spot full of greenery and nature’s wonders. While, yes, this makes a perfect backdrop for capturing your family photos, it also keeps your littles fully engaged during the photo shoot! There are plenty of flowers to sniff, leaves to crunch, and benches and archways to explore!

Wondering what to wear to your family session? If you are planning on a spring family portrait session, I always recommend avoiding black. Especially if you want to frame your photos. It’s best to choose from a selection of light and airy colors or muted earthy shades like dusty blue and sage. These all make excellent color choices and will nicely complement your scenic backdrop. If you do go with an overall outfit theme in shades of blue or green for your family, you’ll want to complement those tones by pairing them with cream, white and tan!
