You would think that my job as a Columbus Family Photographer would be filled to the brim with big families full of love. But it’s typically a rare occasion when I get to take family portraits with cherished extended family members.
And I have to tell you, I absolutely love shooting extended family portraits! It’s such a great “excuse” to get grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins all together in one place to make some beautiful memories. If you really think about it, how often do you have the pleasure of gathering all of your extended family together? It’s a celebration worthy of a portrait session!
Recently, I received an email from Shobit who asked me if I was available for a family portrait session on a Wednesday morning. He was looking for a family photographer that he could trust to memorialize this special occasion for his family. Fortunately, I was open on that specific day and able to bring Shobit’s extended family session to life!
This was especially exciting for Shobit because he lives in New York but his extended family decided on meeting up in Columbus, which was a nice halfway point for everyone. They were in town celebrating their parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. So they booked a spacious Airbnb to accommodate everyone. And “everyone” included the parents three grown sons, their spouses, and their families!
I’m so honored that Shobit reached out to me to be his Columbus Family Photographer! We decided to hold their extended family portraits at the beautiful Columbus Park of Roses. During this session, I had a front-row seat to so many happy moments in the making. Grandparents chasing around and playing with their grandchildren. Children playing happily with cousins they haven’t seen in a while. And parents relaxing and soaking up every moment as it unfolded in front of them. It was an amazing location to capture the treasured memories of such a lovely family!
