This beautiful family showed up to their portrait session in the most adorable matching outfits!
Baby Isla was already at the stage of giggling, grabbing her toes, and oh so close to sitting. So this was not one of my typical newborn photoshoots. But, it’s my firm belief as a newborn & family photographer in Columbus, that you don’t necessarily need a milestone to schedule that session and capture fresh new portraits of your loving family.
All too often, moms feel the push to schedule that newborn photoshoot. This feeling usually comes down to that narrow timeframe before their baby grows too much to be considered a newborn. But, while that timeframe may be best for capturing your sweet bundle. Childbirth can be a jarring experience for many, and unfortunately for some, even traumatic. With those postpartum feelings at play, you might find yourself feeling anything but camera-ready.
Rushing to secure those tender photos with your newborn baby, while you are longing for the experience, might not be what works best for you at that moment. And that is more than ok. It’s ok to wait until you’ve healed and it’s ok to wait until you feel more like yourself.
There are so many gorgeous outdoor locations to capture your family portraits in Columbus. I like to make suggestions to my clients based on their individual needs. If they have a fun and adventurous toddler in their family who is always on the go, I recommend places we can “explore” together. Maybe, you have a sweet baby just around Isla’s age, and you are looking for a location with a crisp backdrop full of greenery. Or, perhaps, this is a rare occasion where your extended family is gathered together for the first time in a long time. In that case, I can make recommendations on the best locations that will fit your entire bunch, into the frame!
This sweet family wanted updated family portraits with their bouncing baby girl, Isla. And I was absolutely delighted to work with them to make it happen! Remember those adorable matching outfits I mentioned? They were all thanks to Mom, Anna. Sweet little baby Isla was in a neutral-shaded romper with a matching headband. Anna wore a delicate ruffled sleeve dress (the tones in her dress matched Isla perfectly!) that she paired with white leather booties. And Dad wore a short-sleeved button-down white shirt and a pair of khaki shorts with some laid-back boat shoes. All in all, they were the picture of perfection, which you’ll get to see in the photos below.
